Bristol Resource Recovery Facility Tunxis Recycling Operating Committee

New Britain Mayor Tim O'Brien appointed to Executive Committee

New Britain Mayor Timothy O’Brien has been chosen to serve on the Executive Committee of the Bristol Resource Recovery Facility Operating Committee (BRRFOC), the regional organization responsible for the safe and cost-effective disposal of municipal solid waste generated in the fourteen member towns and cities it represents. O’Brien, who joined the BRRFOC after being elected mayor in November, will serve on the committee with Bristol Mayor/BRRFOC President Arthur Ward, Wolcott Mayor/BRRFOC Vice President Thomas G. Dunn; Branford First Selectman/BRRFOC Secretary Anthony J. “Unk” DaRos; and Berlin Town Manager/BRRFOC Treasurer Denise McNair. Plainville Town Robert E. Lee, who served as BRRFOC president in 2009 and 2010, and Southington Town Manager Garry Brumback also were named to the Executive Subcommittee, which was recently expanded from four to seven members.

“We are very pleased that Tim O’Brien will serve on the Executive Committee,” said BRRFOC President Arthur Ward. “His years of experience as a state legislator and legislative aide will be invaluable with regard to the strategic planning initiative we are working on and our efforts to further our legislative agenda. We also look forward to working with Tim on other matters the Executive Committee is responsible for, including contract issues associated with the operation of the Bristol waste-to-energy facility, the provision of legal and other professional services; and various personnel matters.”
