W. Kurt Miller joined BRRFOC’s board of directors in December 2011, after being elected to serve as Seymour’s first selectman. Miller’s prior service to the town in which he was born and raised includes two terms on the Board of Selectmen, four years as chairman of the town’s Board of Finance, and a year on Seymour’s Parks and Recreation Commission. A former account manager for CUNA Mutual Group, Miller, the holder of a B.S. in physical education from Southern Connecticut State University and an A.S.in mortuary science from Briarwood College, works for his family-owned business, the Miller-Ward Funeral Home. He and his wife, Tara, are the proud parents of a ten-year-old son, Andrew, and a four-year-old daughter, Kaitlyn.
